The Nello Olivo Wine Tasting Room Opens Near Downtown Placerville
The sign makes it official! Our new tasting room is indeed now open to the public.
Nello stands in the doorway of the new tasting room. The door, in the traditional split "Dutch" style, was handmade especially for the tasting room by local artisan, Jacob Wilson. The rough-hewn style matches room interiors which have an unmistakable rustic flavor.
Uniquely fashioned of rock and raw wooden beams and planks, the tasting room fits perfectly with the historic theme of the building. The tasting bar is fashioned of split knotty pine logs from a ranch owned by El Dorado County Supervisor, Ray Nutting.
Wood for the pillars, beams and ceiling was salvaged from an old barn in Woodland. The stones come from the Rancho Olivo Vineyards property, unearthed when the vines were planted.
Stop by Tuesdays through Saturdays between 3 and 8PM and you're likely to find Nello himself chatting with folks about his wines and sharing his down-to-earth "wine wisdom."
The tasting room is located at 643 Bee Street in Placerville. All are welcome! Map and driving directions.
